Make Bath Time Fun!

When it comes to bath time you’re likely on one of two sides: either your child loves the bath and it’s a struggle to get them out, or they despise it and it’s near impossible to get them in. Whichever side your on, these 5 activities are sure to calm the waters and make bath time more fun for both you and your toddler.

1. Homemade Bath Paint

Basic household items can be turned into foamy bath paints for your little Picassos to create soapy artwork on the tub or shower walls. These colorful paints wash off with just a splash of water and can be made in 3 simple steps:

Grab a cupcake pan and fill each hole with shaving cream
Put a few drops of food coloring on each shaving cream mound
Mix together

Kids can paint with paint brushes or with their hands (also a great way for cleaning dirt out from under their tiny fingernails!) This activity is not only fun and easy to execute, but parents also end up with squeaky clean walls, too!

2. Blow Bubbles Underwater

Blowing bubbles and holding your breath underwater seems as if it would be instinctual. As a mom of a 3 year old who still struggles with this skill- despite countless hours of swimming lessons- I can assuredly tell you that it is not. Practice blowing bubbles with your child as early as possible (through their noses, not their mouths) to get them comfortable with this skill. They will have fun learning, while you will gain some reassurance knowing they understand how to breathe (or how not to) underwater! Pro tip: If your child is like mine and struggles with the whole “blowing out from your nose” concept, have them hum underwater, which will automatically blow air from their nose.

3. Bath Toys
